National Hunting and Fishing Day RDR/ACK

The Country Pond Fish and Game Club is celebrating the start of the hunting season.
The club held special events and demonstrations as part of National Hunting and fishing day.
According to the Concord Monitor hunting participation has gone down in New Hampshire by nearly 34-thousand.
A member of the Board of Directors of the club Richard Tuite (Toot) says is a way to connect the younger generation with nature.

("hunting is more than just harvesting an animal its being in the woods and seeing nature. You know when you go out in the woods to go hunting you also see a lot of the songbirds cardinals and other interactions with animals it's not just about killing animals ")

The hunting season in New Hampshire runs from mid-September to December-eighth.
Milford Pumpkin Fest WRAP

Families can look forward to the opening of the Milford Pumpkin Festival this year on October eleventh in Milford.
K-S-C Radio's Austin Cook reports there will be some noticeable changes to this year's festival.

The Milford Pumpkin Festival attracts just over 30-thousand people a year.
But returning visitors will notice one thing absent this time ... no fireworks.

("that's disappointed a few people we had it for safety issues that is why we didn't do it this year we are looking at bringing them back next year they are just on a one-year hiatus.")

Also absent this year ... amusement rides.
Despite those changes Sarah Wright says ... she's still going.

Wade Campbell says even though there will be no fireworks or amusement rides there is still food and one of the main attractions to this year's festival the stamp release.

Even though some of last year's attractions won't be there ... the festival still brings the community together and attracts a large crowd for our local businesses.
