New England Sweetwater Distillery
Keene State College Multimedia Internship
Purpose of My Internship
Capture the New England Sweetwater Distillery's family roots and showcase their dedication in crafting high quality spirits through photographs and videos.
Testimonials
The testimonials captured New England Sweetwater Distillery customers talking about their favorite product. Here I learned how to use a lighting kit to add different moods to each shot. I applied a new techniques from Premier to combine ghost video image of the person speaking over a still photograph of the product. This took a lot of time to learn, and the results came out great. It really helped connect the person speaking to the product in a genuine way.
Product Photograph Gallery
The photographs below capture each spirit in a setting local to the family farm and distillery. Each photo setting highlights a unique quality of each product, like the purity of the gin, warmth of the aged bourbon, the rustic flavor of the moonshine, and the tradition of the maple whiskey.
Kenny's Still Room Tour
The video showcases Kenny's pride and deduction to product quality. Kenny shared a lot of information, but not all of it fit the topic. I had to cut and splice much of the video so it presented him and the company in the best light possible. This required both complex editing skills in rebuilding the video and audio. I used a drone indoors to shoot images of the distillery. I learned how to manipulate the drone in a tight space. I merge the drone footage with the camera video. This is something I can apply to any future commercial shoot.
Portraits
Photographs highlight some of the family at the distillery and farm. I wanted to capture their pride and focus on creating their products.
Aging and Tasting
All products take time to mature before they are ready for sale
Below I highlighted the means of maturing the spirits and serving them to customers for tasting. Every step is met with precision and focus.
Company Roots
This video highlights the history and start of New England Sweetwater from the company owners. I merged my interview video, still photos, and B-Roll so it looked and sounded seamless and complete. My final product required several takes and editing finesse. More importantly, I learned how to work with people and ease their anxiety about being on camera. This is a skill I will rely on heavily in the future.
Bottling
All bottling is done by hand. This includes the labeling. I wanted to show just a few of these steps of the process in a photograph.
